Giant Squids invades the California waters off Newport Beach California. The squids weigh 20-40 pounds and yes they squirt ink for protection. Giant Squid is also called Jumbo squid, Humboldt squid or jumbo flying squid. They can grow up to 100 pounds and 16 feet long.September last year, a 103 ponds giant squid was caught in the Gulf of Mexico. It was 19 1/2 feet long.
As of today, around 400 of the giant squids have been nabbed by anglers off the coast of Newport Beach California.
